When “Wheel of Fortune” first shared its name with me, I did a double take. “Are your sure” I asked it? I mean it is my favorite game show but a name for a stone? “Yes” it said. “Ok. Wheel of Fortune it is.” Over the years I’ve learn to question less and less the information I receive and just go with it. For this one I just wanted to make sure I got it right.
“Wheel of Fortune” reminds us that life moves and changes in cycles; ups and downs, ebbs and flows. It inspires us to tune into our own cycles which often times are spiral in nature. What seems like going in circles, is really us coming back to the “same place” but from a different perspective, like peeling the layers off of an onion.
“W of F” encourages us to trust the flow of life, to stop fighting and resisting what is, for therein lies our pain and suffering. When we accept what is, then we can make changes based on what’s right in front of us, right here, right now. Like looking at a map. We can know where we want to be however until we know from where we’re starting, it’s impossible to draw a route to that destination (goal).
In the end, the “fortune” we seek is really the peace we gain when we let go of the resistance and go with the flow.
I used acrylic art and metallic paints, with gel pen details, to hand paint this stone.
